1.Used as steel surface cleaning agent

If the steel surface requires pot plating, chromium plating, tin plating, or nickel plating to adapt to special purposes, such as manufacturing tinplate, galvanized sheets, surface chromium plating (electricity), etc., the surface of the steel billet must be strictly cleaned to ensure that the coating is in contact with the steel. The surface is firmly bonded. At this time, adding sodium gluconate to the cleaning agent will achieve a very ideal effect. This has been confirmed by major international companies manufacturing tinplate.

2.Used as cement admixture

Adding a certain amount of sodium gluconate to cement can increase the plasticity and strength of concrete and have a blocking effect.
That is, delaying the initial and final solidification period of concrete. For example, adding 0.15% sodium gluconate can extend the initial solidification time of concrete by more than 10 times, that is, it can extend the plasticity time of concrete from hours to days without affecting its plasticity. Fastness. Plasticity and delaying the initial setting time are very important issues in concrete operations. For example, in high-temperature season construction and large-scale engineering operations, delaying the initial setting time is a problem. Sodium gluconate can successfully solve this problem. In addition, it is difficult to glue oil wells at high temperatures. The concrete added with sodium gluconate becomes plastic within a few hours at a high temperature of 170°C, so it can also satisfactorily solve the above problems. Therefore, sodium gluconate as a cement admixture has been widely used in important construction projects abroad, such as a large number of bridge projects in the Middle East.

3.Application of sodium gluconate in construction industry

Concrete is a composite material made from cement, aggregates, admixtures and water. Concrete is the most abundant of all man-made materials. Three-quarters of concrete is aggregate, however the most active ingredient in concrete is cement slurry. The properties and performance of concrete are mainly determined by the properties of cement slurry. Admixtures in concrete can provide some beneficial effects such as accelerating solidification, delaying solidification, causing air to exist in the form of bubbles, reducing water consumption and increasing plasticity, etc. Often several admixtures are used simultaneously in cement, with the various admixtures reinforcing each other in some applications.

Sodium gluconate can be used as an admixture in concrete. Its functions in concrete are as follows: water reducing agent and retarder.
Sodium gluconate is generally used alone, but can also be used in combination with other retardants such as carbohydrates and phosphates. Sodium gluconate is a crystalline powder. It is produced under properly defined and controlled conditions. This compound is chemically pure and non-corrosive. Quality is constant. 4.Sodium gluconate as water reducing agent

By adding water-reducing admixtures, the water-cement ratio (W/C) can be reduced. By adding sodium gluconate, the following effects can be obtained:
1. Improve workability. When the water-cement ratio (W/C) remains unchanged, adding sodium gluconate can improve workability. At this time, sodium gluconate acts as a plasticizer. When the added amount of sodium gluconate is below 0.1%, the degree of improvement in workability is directly proportional to the added amount.
2. Increase strength. While the cement content remains constant the water content in the concrete can be reduced (i.e. the W/C is reduced). When the amount of sodium gluconate is 0.1%, the amount of water added can be reduced by 10%.
3. Reduce cement content. The water and cement contents are reduced in the same proportion and the W/C ratio remains unchanged.


5.Sodium gluconate as retardant

Sodium gluconate can significantly delay the setting time of concrete. When the dosage is less than 0.15%, the logarithm of the initial setting time is directly proportional to the dosage. That is, doubling the dosage will delay the initial setting time to ten times, which reduces the working time from a few to a few. hours to days without sacrificing intensity. This is an important advantage especially on hot days and when it needs to be left in place for an extended period of time.

6.Used as a special cleaning agent for glass bottles

There are billions of glass bottles in the beverage industry, food industry, and brewing industry every day, such as soda bottles, beer bottles, milk bottles, can bottles, soy sauce bottles, wine bottles, etc. Their cleaning work is a very important matter. Cleaning The formulation of pharmaceutical agents is a difficult technical task. An ideal pharmaceutical has not yet appeared in China.

If sodium gluconate is used as the main ingredient in the formula of its glass bottle cleaning agent, the above problems can be easily solved. The application in this area has not yet been developed in China. If a market is formed, the potential is huge.

7.Used as water quality stabilizer
Because sodium gluconate has excellent corrosion and scale inhibition effects, it is widely used as a water quality stabilizer, such as as a treatment agent for circulating cooling water systems of petrochemical enterprises, low-pressure boilers, and internal combustion engine cooling water systems. Because it has the following specific advantages:
1.It has obvious coordination effect. It is suitable for formulas such as molybdenum, silicon, phosphorus, tungsten, and nitrite. Due to the coordination effect, the corrosion inhibition effect is greatly improved.
2.The corrosion inhibition rate increases as the temperature increases. Generally, the corrosion inhibition rate of corrosion inhibitors decreases as the temperature increases, or even completely loses its effect. But sodium gluconate is just the opposite. The corrosion inhibition rate increases with temperature within a certain range. For example, in tests on carbon steel and other materials, when the temperature increased from 77°F to 120°C, the buffering rate increased by 5% on average. above. Therefore, the unique properties of sodium gluconate make it ideal for use as a corrosion inhibitor in systems with higher temperatures or systems that change temperatures from low to high temperatures.
3.Strong anti-scaling ability: It has strong complexing ability for calcium, magnesium and iron salts, so it has strong anti-scaling ability, especially excellent chelating effect on Fe3+, even within the full PH range.
4.Eliminate public nuisance. Using sodium gluconate as a corrosion and scale inhibitor for circulating cooling water can eliminate pollution. This is an advantage that cannot be matched by other corrosion and scale inhibitors used.
