Sodium hexametaphosphate, an inorganic substance with the molecular formula (NaPO3)6, is highly soluble in water while remaining insoluble in organic solvents.

Property: White PowderAvailable as either a white powder or granules, sodium hexametaphosphate boasts a density of 2.484 at 20°C. It dissolves easily in water but is insoluble in organic solvents. The compound is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from the air, and can become sticky upon exposure. It can form complex compounds with metal ions such as calcium, barium, magnesium, copper, and iron, making it an excellent agent for water treatment.
