1. Softening hard water by reacting with metal ions such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe³⁺and others, converting them from insoluble to soluble states. Na₅P₃O₁₀+Ca²⁺ --->Na₃(CaP₃O₁₀)+2Na⁺
2. Enhancing emulsifying and dispersing power, increasing the solubility of proteins and dust typically found in fabrics from daily use.
3. Acts as a buffering agent, maintaining the pH level of detergents between 9~9.5, thus aiding in the removal of acidic dirt from fabrics.
4. Functions as an anti-caking agent for detergent powders. Due to its moisture-absorbing capability, STPP transforms into a dry, free-flowing Hexahydrate, preventing caking in exposed air.
